New OFW wing opens at NAIA Terminal 3 to speed up immigration process

The Bureau of Immigration has launched a new wing at NAIA Terminal 3 dedicated solely to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), aiming to streamline immigration procedures for both arrivals and departures.

The OFW wing officially began operations on April 9, providing faster and more efficient processing exclusively for OFWs. According to Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, the move follows the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to improve services for Filipino migrant workers.

“Binuksan na ng Bureau of Immigration ang bagong OFW Wing sa NAIA Terminal 3,” Castro said during a press briefing. “Ang nasabing wing ay para lang sa mga OFW para matiyak ang mabilis at mas epektibong Immigration processing.”

She added that the initiative also highlights the government’s acknowledgment of the vital role OFWs play in supporting the national economy. “Bahagi rin ito ng pagkakilala sa kontribusyon ng OFWs sa ekonomiya ng ating bansa,” Castro noted.

The Bureau of Immigration handles over 3,400 departing OFWs daily at NAIA, making the establishment of specialized lanes a practical necessity.
