The United Arab Emirates and the Philippines have reaffirmed their commitment to closer cooperation in policing and public safety through the signing of a new bilateral security agreement.
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, welcomed Philippine Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Juanito Victor Remulla in Abu Dhabi, where both officials explored ways to boost collaboration on crime prevention, law enforcement, and knowledge sharing between the two countries.
The agreement is expected to pave the way for increased coordination in addressing transnational threats, enhancing capacity building, and sharing best practices in security operations.
The meeting was attended by top UAE officials, including Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police; and Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi of the Federal Anti-Narcotics Department.
Secretary Remulla was joined by Assistant Secretary Lilian de Leon, Executive Assistant Heidi Sy, and other Philippine delegates.
