Dining spots near Dubai Fountain get 4-month rent relief during renovation

Restaurants and cafes with views of the iconic Dubai Fountain will receive a four-month rent waiver as Emaar begins a major renovation of the popular attraction.

The temporary rent relief, effective from June to September 2025, will benefit around 50 outlets facing the Lake and Fountain areas at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar. The initiative was announced by Emaar Malls Management as a response to the disruption caused by the fountain’s temporary closure.

“The Dubai Fountain has long played a vital role in drawing crowds to these venues,” said Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar in a Khaleej Times report. “This rent support demonstrates our continued commitment to our partners as we enter a period of transformation.”

The world-famous Dubai Fountain held its final show before closure on April 19, drawing a large turnout from residents and tourists. Emaar confirmed that the extensive upgrade project will span several months.

To help maintain foot traffic during the downtime, Emaar is also enhancing the promenade with 400 meters of digital screens, which will showcase dynamic content aimed at keeping the area vibrant and engaging for visitors.
