Marcos trust rating dips while Duterte sees boost in April 2025 OCTA survey

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s trust and performance ratings slipped in April 2025, while Vice President Sara Duterte saw a notable rebound, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey by OCTA Research.

Marcos posted a 60% trust rating and a 59% performance rating—both lower than the figures recorded in late 2024, where he enjoyed a 65% trust rating and 64% performance score. OCTA noted that this is the president’s lowest trust rating since early 2024, pointing out a gradual decline observed since mid-2024. Still, the group emphasized that “most adult Filipinos continue to express trust and approval for President Marcos.”

In contrast, Duterte’s ratings moved in the opposite direction. Her trust rating climbed to 58% and her performance rating to 56%, an improvement from her 49% and 48% scores, respectively, in the last quarter of 2024. OCTA described the surge as “a clear reversal” from her previous downward trend, where her trust rating had steadily dropped from a peak of 87% in early 2023.

The non-commissioned survey was conducted from April 2 to 5, 2025, through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 Filipino adults across the country. The results carry a margin of error of ±3% at a 95% confidence level.
