Two lucky expatriates—one from Pakistan and one from India—have struck it rich, becoming the latest millionaires in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion held at Dubai International Airport’s Concourse D.
Muhammad Gumman, a Pakistani national residing in Saudi Arabia, was named the winner in Millennium Millionaire Series 498 after purchasing ticket number 2990 online on April 12. Gumman, who has yet to be reached by organizers, is now the 26th Pakistani to win the coveted $1 million prize since the program began in 1999.
Joining him in the millionaire circle is 49-year-old Biju Therool, an Indian national who has lived in Dubai for 20 years. Therool won the same amount under Series 499 with ticket number 0437, which he bought at Terminal 2 before heading to Kerala for a vacation.
“Thank you very much Dubai Duty Free. I’m so happy with this win!” said Therool, a retail employee and father of two who has been participating in the promotion for five years.
The excitement didn’t end there. Dubai Duty Free also handed out luxury prizes in its Finest Surprise draw, awarding two cars and a motorbike.
Dutch national Albert Walraven, a UAE resident and past winner of a Porsche in 2012, won again—this time a Range Rover SE P360 (Batumi Gold) with ticket number 1171. He purchased the ticket online on April 5.
Meanwhile, Pakistani national Saadullah Malik, based in Riyadh, claimed a Land Rover Defender 110 V8 525 Edition (Santorini Black) through ticket number 1066, which he bought on April 18 at Concourse D. “Thank you Dubai Duty Free for this opportunity. I can’t wait to see my winning car,” Malik, a telecom professional and father of three, said.
Finally, Indian national Soma Nagaraj, also based in the UAE, won an Indian 101 Scout motorbike in Sunset Red Metallic with ticket number 0409. He purchased the ticket online on April 8 and has not yet commented.
