The UAE Cyber Security Council has issued a warning to Huawei device users, advising them to install the latest security update released by the tech giant for May 2025.
This comes after Huawei rolled out its monthly patch addressing several high-risk and critical vulnerabilities found in both its HarmonyOS modules and third-party libraries. The security fix focuses on HarmonyOS 5.0.0 but also includes updates for earlier versions of HarmonyOS and EMUI.
Authorities urged users, including subsidiaries and partners, to update their Huawei phones and tablets immediately to minimize security risks and safeguard data.
The council emphasized the importance of staying updated to prevent exploitation of the identified vulnerabilities.
