Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a major upgrade to its Seasonal Marine Transport Network, aiming to boost service efficiency and adaptability during peak periods such as holidays and major events.
Set to launch this Friday for the summer season, the new system harnesses advanced technology and big data analytics to fine-tune marine transport operations. By processing real-time data — including passenger numbers, occupancy levels, and revenue figures — RTA can now adjust schedules and trip frequencies on the fly to better meet public demand.
RTA said the initiative underscores its commitment to agility and responsiveness, especially during periods of fluctuating travel patterns. The system uses tailored algorithms capable of scaling for future use, ensuring that the marine transport network remains efficient and customer-focused.
The authority emphasized that the new framework is not just about operational efficiency — maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction remains a priority. Each season will be reviewed independently to ensure continued improvement and alignment with public needs.
