Authorities in Abu Dhabi have ordered the closure of Cafe Anzuman Restaurant LLC due to multiple violations of the emirate’s strict food safety regulations.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) confirmed the administrative shutdown on Monday, citing breaches of Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety, along with its supporting legislation. The restaurant was found to pose a direct threat to public health, prompting immediate action from officials.
This latest closure adds to a growing list of eateries in the capital facing penalties for non-compliance. Earlier this year, Spicy Restaurant Tamil Nadu on Hamdan Street was also shut down following safety violations.
ADAFSA reiterated its commitment to ensuring food establishments uphold hygiene and safety standards. Regular inspections are carried out, and businesses that fail to meet regulations risk closure and further penalties.
To aid consumer awareness, Abu Dhabi has rolled out the Zadna Rating app, which displays food safety ratings for over 9,000 food outlets across the city.
