Orange alert for strong winds and rough sea conditions issued in UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE has issued an orange alert, warning residents of strong winds and very rough sea conditions until noon on May 7. A yellow alert has also been issued in some areas, indicating moderate caution.

According to the NCM, the weather will be partly cloudy, with a noticeable drop in temperatures. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 15-30 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h, leading to dusty conditions and reduced visibility in some areas.

Abu Dhabi Police have urged drivers to remain cautious due to the possibility of low visibility caused by blowing dust and sand. Motorists have been reminded to avoid distractions, such as using phones or recording videos while driving.

The Arabian Gulf is expected to experience rough to very rough conditions, while the Oman Sea will also be rough, the NCM added. Residents, especially those planning marine activities, are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
