Dubai Police have seized 32 jet skis from rental companies operating at Fishing Harbour 3 as part of an extensive safety enforcement campaign led by the Ports Police Station.
The operation aimed to ensure compliance with marine safety regulations, protect public safety, and enforce transparent rental practices among watercraft operators. Police discovered that many of the confiscated jet skis were either severely damaged, had been involved in previous accidents, or were deemed unfit for use.
In addition to the seizures, authorities issued 39 violations for offenses such as unsafe operations and failure to follow designated routes. Inspectors also identified administrative shortcomings in several businesses, including poor record-keeping and unclear rental procedures, leading to warnings and reports being submitted to licensing and legal authorities.
Dubai Police have reiterated that renting out unsafe or unlicensed jet skis can result in fines of up to AED 5,000, with further penalties for obstructing inspections or failing to renew expired licenses. Authorities are urging all jet ski rental companies to conduct regular safety checks and maintain full compliance with operational standards.
