The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has temporarily closed five restaurants and one supermarket across the capital due to serious violations of food safety standards, threatening public health.
The establishments shut down include Karak Future Cafeteria, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant & Cafeteria, Pak Ravi Restaurant, Saltie Desi Darbar, and Rukn Al Maqam Restaurant. Additionally, Rich & Fresh Supermarket in Mohammed Bin Zayed City was also ordered to close.
ADAFSA confirmed that these businesses repeatedly failed to comply with Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety, with inspectors identifying high-risk violations that directly endangered consumer health. Despite previous warnings and required corrective actions, the outlets continued to violate safety regulations.
“The administrative closures will remain in effect until the underlying issues are resolved and the facilities fully comply with all food safety requirements,” ADAFSA stated, highlighting that the closures aim to protect public health rather than being purely punitive.
Regular inspections across all food establishments in Abu Dhabi continue as part of the authority’s commitment to maintaining safe food handling and preparation practices.
