Catherine Pamatian, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) diagnosed with cervical cancer, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac for ensuring her swift return to the Philippines and for providing crucial medical assistance during her ongoing treatment.
Pamatian, who had been working as a domestic worker in Kuwait since May 2017, was forced to cut short her latest contract after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. Recognizing the urgency of her condition, her employer permitted her to return home for immediate medical care.
Arriving in the Philippines on May 10, 2025, Pamatian was immediately brought to the OFW Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga, where she is now receiving treatment.
“I am deeply grateful to Secretary Hans Cacdac for his support. It made all the difference during this difficult time,” Pamatian shared.
Her case highlights the ongoing efforts of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) to provide prompt assistance and medical care to Filipino workers abroad facing health crises.
