Abu Dhabi man ordered to pay AED 7,000 for verbal abuse in social media messages

An Abu Dhabi court has ordered a man to pay AED 7,000 in compensation to a woman after he was found guilty of verbally abusing her, including sending her offensive voice messages through social media.

The woman initially filed a lawsuit demanding AED 30,000 in compensation, citing emotional and moral distress caused by the man’s actions. Her claim also included coverage for legal fees and attorney expenses.

After reviewing the case, the Abu Dhabi Court of Family, Civil and Administrative Cases concluded that the man’s abusive behavior caused significant moral harm to the woman. As a result, the court directed him to pay AED 7,000 in damages.
