UAE National Guard rescues 16 from two separate sea accidents

The UAE National Guard successfully rescued 16 individuals in two separate maritime incidents near the nation’s coast on Sunday, ensuring their safe return without any serious injuries.

The first rescue operation involved three Asian men whose cargo ship began sinking. The National Guard, working alongside other emergency services, swiftly responded and evacuated the stranded crew. The exact location and cause of the incident have not been disclosed.

Hours later, a second distress call was received when a boat carrying 13 passengers—comprising UAE citizens and residents—began to sink while they were having a picnic at sea. The National Search and Rescue Centre, in collaboration with the Coast Guard, immediately launched a rescue operation. All 13 passengers were safely evacuated.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incidents, but they emphasized the importance of maritime safety and vigilance.
