RTA to build new two-lane bridge in Nad Al Sheba, easing travel for residents

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to construct a new two-lane bridge in Nad Al Sheba, aiming to significantly cut travel time for residents and enhance traffic flow in the area.

Spanning approximately 700 meters, the bridge will directly connect inbound traffic from Dubai–Al Ain Road towards Al Ain, serving as a vital link for the Nad Al Sheba community. With a design capacity of 2,600 vehicles per hour, the bridge is expected to reduce travel time from Dubai–Al Ain Road to Nad Al Sheba by 83%, bringing the journey down from six minutes to just one.

The project, set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 and expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026, is part of RTA’s broader strategy to improve road infrastructure and enhance traffic efficiency across Dubai. By addressing the growing demand for smoother mobility in residential areas, the new bridge will support around 30,000 residents in Nad Al Sheba.

In addition to this new bridge, the RTA has completed several traffic enhancements in the area, including the construction of a 170-meter bridge at the intersection of Nad Al Sheba Street and Dubai–Al Ain Road. This bridge, featuring two lanes in each direction, ensures better traffic flow toward Nad Al Sheba, Meydan, and surrounding developments.

RTA has also implemented safety improvements around local schools, including Repton School and Al Khaleej International School, benefiting around 10,000 students. These enhancements include added parking spaces, designated pick-up and drop-off areas, and a newly converted roundabout at Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Nad Al Sheba Street, which has reduced delay times by 50%.
