Dispute turns into street brawl in Sharjah; both parties referred to public prosecution

Sharjah Police have confirmed that a road dispute between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation, prompting authorities to intervene and refer both parties to the public prosecutor.

According to the General Command of Sharjah Police, the incident occurred on a public road in the emirate and involved two individuals of Arab nationality. What began as a verbal disagreement quickly turned physical following a misunderstanding.

Police patrols swiftly responded to the scene, collected statements from both individuals involved, and transferred the case to the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings.

Colonel Ibrahim Mosbah Al-Ajaj, Director General of the General Administration of Comprehensive Police Centers, stressed that Sharjah Police “is strictly dealing with such behaviors that do not represent the behavior of the society.” He underscored the importance of maintaining composure in tense situations and avoiding impulsive reactions that may lead to violence.

He also issued a reminder that recording and sharing such incidents on social media is a legal violation, cautioning the public to report such cases directly to the authorities rather than circulating them online.

Sharjah Police reiterated their ongoing commitment to public safety and urged residents to contribute to a secure environment by reporting inappropriate conduct or suspicious activity through their 901 non-emergency hotline.
