Motorists in Ras Al Khaimah are being warned to drive with extreme caution as dense fog covered several key areas early Tuesday morning, drastically limiting visibility and raising road safety concerns.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the fog was observed in multiple locations including Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Al Jazeera, and Al Hamra. The alert is in effect until 8am, with visibility expected to remain poor during that window.
Drivers have been urged to slow down and stay focused behind the wheel. Authorities emphasized that low visibility can lead to sudden hazards on the road, especially during peak travel hours.
Aside from fog, the NCM forecasted dusty and partly cloudy skies for the rest of the day. Temperatures are set to dip slightly but will remain high, ranging from 39°C to 42°C in coastal areas and climbing to 43°C to 47°C inland. In the mountains, cooler conditions are expected, with temperatures between 29°C and 36°C.
Northwesterly winds blowing at 15 to 30 km/h may pick up speed throughout the day, potentially stirring up dust and sand, which could further reduce horizontal visibility. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are predicted to be rough, while the Oman Sea may see moderate disturbances—prompting authorities to caution mariners as well.
The NCM continues to monitor weather developments and advises the public to stay updated through official channels.
