With the Eid Al Adha holiday rush beginning, Emirates has advised passengers flying out of Dubai between June 1 and 9 to prepare for higher-than-usual airport traffic and to make use of early and digital check-in options to avoid delays.
The airline expects a significant surge in passenger numbers during the period and is encouraging travelers to arrive at the airport up to three hours before departure. Those flying out are also urged to pass through immigration at least 90 minutes before their flight and reach their boarding gates an hour early.
To help passengers beat the rush, Emirates is offering multiple options for early and remote check-ins. Travelers can drop off their baggage at the airport the night before their flight at no extra cost. For added convenience, they may also check in at the Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store in DIFC or opt for the Home Check-In service in Dubai and Sharjah—complimentary for First Class and Platinum Skywards members.
Digital options are also emphasized. Passengers are encouraged to use the Emirates app to manage bookings, access flight updates, select meals, and plan inflight entertainment. Both the website and app allow check-in up to 48 hours before departure.
To support travelers moving between concourses, Emirates is running shuttle services and buggies, with special assistance prioritized for senior citizens, families with children, and People of Determination. Passengers with special needs can also take advantage of priority lanes and designated support services throughout Dubai International Airport.
Travelers are reminded to comply with baggage safety rules, especially regarding battery-powered items like power banks and e-cigarettes. Additionally, Emirates passengers can skip in-airport shopping lines by pre-ordering duty-free items through EmiratesRED.com and enjoy exclusive discounts during the Eid period.
In a sweet gesture, those flying on weekends from June 6 to 20 will be treated to complimentary ice cream from Emirates carts stationed across various terminal areas, offering mango, chocolate, strawberry, passionfruit, and raspberry flavors.
With DXB expecting to surpass last year’s record of 92.3 million passengers, Emirates is making every effort to ensure a smoother journey for all during the holiday rush.
