The Philippine Embassy in the UAE has announced that the iconic Burj Khalifa will once again be illuminated in the colors of the Philippine flag on June 12, 2025, in celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day.
In a social media post, the embassy called on Filipinos in the UAE to gather at 7:50 p.m. on this historic evening to witness the symbolic lighting display, marking a vibrant tribute to Filipino unity, culture, and national pride.
“Mga Kabayan! Halina’t saksihan ang makulay na pagbubunyi ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa muling pagpapailaw ng Philippine colors sa Burj Khalifa!” the post read, inviting the community to be part of this momentous occasion.
The event, held under the banner #DFAForgingAhead, is part of a larger initiative to celebrate Filipino identity and heritage on the global stage, especially among the overseas Filipino community in the Middle East.
The Philippine flag has been previously displayed on the world’s tallest tower in past Independence Day celebrations, drawing large crowds of OFWs and international spectators alike.
