Over 629,000 travelers entered Dubai during Eid Al Adha holiday rush

Dubai saw a major influx of travelers over the Eid Al Adha break, with 629,559 people arriving through its air, land, and sea entry points between June 5 and 8, according to figures released by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) on Wednesday.

Dubai International Airport handled the lion’s share of arrivals, recording 581,527 passengers. Meanwhile, 46,863 travelers crossed through the Hatta land border, and 1,169 entered via maritime routes.

Major General Talal Al Shanqeeti, Assistant Director General of the Air Ports Sector, said the figures are a testament to Dubai’s standing as a global travel hub, backed by smart systems and efficient coordination across all ports of entry.

“We have made it a priority to ensure a seamless travel experience through smart gates and artificial intelligence technologies, which have contributed to speeding up procedures and improving the flow of movement,” he said. Al Shanqeeti emphasized that the travel experience now reflects the city’s broader goal of enhancing quality of life and providing flexible, responsive services.

The GDRFA noted that these results highlight the strength of its cooperation with aviation and border sector partners, showing Dubai’s readiness to manage high-volume travel seasons efficiently. This aligns with the emirate’s broader vision of becoming a global benchmark for smart, people-centered services in mobility and quality of life.
