Scorching weather continues to grip the UAE, with temperatures in Dubai and Sharjah forecast to soar to 43°C today, according to the latest update from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Across the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly fair with some intervals of partial cloud cover. However, as the sun sets, humidity levels will climb—especially overnight and into Thursday morning—raising the possibility of fog or mist developing in parts of the north. Coastal humidity could range from 10% to as high as 90%.
Abu Dhabi isn’t far behind in the heatwave, with temperatures peaking at 42°C and dipping to 30°C. In Dubai and Sharjah, the heat will also settle in with lows of 31°C and 29°C respectively.
Winds will be mostly light to moderate but may pick up at times, potentially stirring up dust and sand in western parts of the country. Wind speeds could reach up to 40 km/h.
Meanwhile, sea conditions are expected to be moderate in general, becoming rough westward in the Arabian Gulf and remaining slight in the Oman Sea.
This week’s intense heat comes just days before the official start of summer on June 21, marked by the summer solstice—the longest day of the year. On Tuesday, the UAE recorded its highest temperature so far this year at a blistering 50.5°C in Sweihan, Al Ain, at 2:30 p.m., as confirmed by the NCM.
