Authorities in Abu Dhabi have ordered the immediate closure of Al Rabia Restaurant in Gayathi, Al Dhafra, for posing a serious threat to public health due to repeated breaches of food safety regulations.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) announced the administrative shutdown on Friday, citing violations of Law No. (2) of 2008 on food safety and its implementing rules. In a statement posted on X, the agency stressed that the restaurant’s practices endanger consumer well-being.
This move is part of ADAFSA’s wider crackdown on establishments found violating food safety protocols. Just last month, three other businesses — Cettinadu Multi Cuisine Restaurant, Nasayem Alnil Pastries and Sweets, and Diamond City Supermarket — were also shut down for similar offenses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Earlier in May, Zaiqa Grill N Restaurant in Al Dana was also closed. Other violators over recent months include Pak Ravi Restaurant, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant and Cafeteria, Karak Future Cafeteria, Rich and Fresh Supermarket, Salty Desi Darbar Restaurant, and Al Maqam Corner Restaurant.
Authorities continue to urge food establishments to strictly comply with health standards to ensure the safety of consumers across the emirate.
