Dubai is ramping up efforts to make the city more bike-friendly, with plans to stretch its cycling tracks to a total of 1,000 kilometers by 2030.
From a modest nine kilometers in 2006, the emirate has seen a massive expansion, now offering 560 kilometers of dedicated cycling paths across the city. The goal, according to the Dubai Media Office, is to build on this momentum and further integrate cycling into the city’s lifestyle and transport system.
The move supports Dubai’s broader vision of promoting sustainability, reducing carbon emissions, and encouraging healthier living among residents and visitors.
