Dust and heat persist across UAE as temperatures peak at 45°C in inland areas

Residents across the UAE are urged to take precautions today as dusty conditions and soaring temperatures continue to affect parts of the country, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported.

The NCM said the day will be “fair in general and partly cloudy and dusty at times over some areas during the daytime.” Those with respiratory conditions or allergies are advised to limit outdoor exposure.

Temperatures will vary widely, with coastal and island regions expecting highs between 36°C and 41°C. Inland areas will endure more intense heat, peaking between 40°C and 45°C, while mountainous regions will see cooler weather ranging from 30°C to 35°C.

Humidity is set to rise tonight into Thursday morning, especially along coastal and internal zones. This could lead to mist, particularly in the northern parts of the country.

Winds will mostly come from the northwest to southwest at speeds of 15 to 30 km/h, occasionally picking up with stronger gusts that may stir up dust and sand, reducing visibility.

The Arabian Gulf will remain moderate to rough, with gusts up to 40 km/h pushing waves to heights of 6 feet offshore. In contrast, the Oman Sea will experience calmer conditions. The maritime disturbance is expected to continue into Thursday.
