Sharjah Police rewards top graduates with free driving licenses and special discounts

In a bid to reward academic excellence and empower youth, Sharjah Police has rolled out two initiatives aimed at supporting high school graduates while promoting road safety and responsibility.

The standout program, dubbed the ‘Excellence License’, offers a full driving license package — free of charge — to the top 10 government school graduates in the emirate. From the eye test to final licensing, all costs are covered. The initiative is a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Education, Sharjah Private Education Authority, Sharjah Driving Institute, and Belhasa Driving Institute.

Brigadier Khalid Mohammed Al Kay, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, said in a Gulf News report that the program was designed to ease the transition into adulthood for high achievers. “These programs are a great example of how academic success can lead to valuable rewards that open doors to the future,” he said.

In a show of appreciation to those who serve, another initiative, ‘License for the Children of Givers’, grants a 50 percent discount on training fees to graduates whose parents are Sharjah Police employees. This offer is available throughout the summer break.

Brigadier Al Kay added that these efforts underscore the importance of nurturing a generation of responsible drivers while recognizing both student achievement and family dedication.
