Free public parking announced in Dubai for Hijri New Year holiday

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has declared that public parking across the city will be free on Friday, June 27, in observance of the Islamic Hijri New Year. However, this waiver does not apply to multi-level parking terminals, with normal fees resuming the following day, Saturday, June 28.

In line with the holiday, the RTA also shared adjusted schedules for its various customer services and transportation systems.

All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on the day of the holiday, though the Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and the RTA Head Office will remain accessible around the clock.

Meanwhile, all vehicle testing and service provider centres will pause operations on June 27, with services back to normal the next day.

For commuters, the Dubai Metro will operate from 5am to 1am, while the Dubai Tram will run from 6am to 1am on the holiday.
