Dubai to host World Sports Summit this December with global athletes and leaders

Dubai is set to welcome the world’s top athletes, sports leaders, and industry experts for the World Sports Summit, taking place from December 29 to 30, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah.

The major announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he emphasized the city’s growing influence in global sports. “The summit is set to become the world’s largest gathering of sports stars, industry experts, and decision makers,” Sheikh Hamdan stated.

Organized by the Dubai Sports Council, the summit aims to position Dubai as a central hub in shaping the future of sports worldwide. It will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and strategic meetings under the theme Designing the Future of Global Sports.

The event will tackle key issues such as boosting fan engagement, developing sporting talent, improving economic sustainability in sports, and leveraging new technologies.

Sheikh Hamdan, an avid athlete himself known for his love of diving, spearfishing, and endurance races, has long championed the role of fitness in everyday life. His leadership in launching the Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2017 continues to rally thousands annually to embrace an active lifestyle, with iconic moments like closing Sheikh Zayed Road for a citywide run.
