Veteran entertainment columnist, talent manager, and TV personality Lolit Solis has died at the age of 78 following a heart attack, her daughter Sneezy confirmed to GMA News Online on Friday.
Solis, fondly known in the industry as “Manay Lolit,” passed away in the hospital. Her final post on Instagram expressed gratitude to her doctors, a quiet farewell that resonated with her decades-long presence in Philippine media.
Widely respected for her fearless commentary and unmistakable voice in showbiz reporting, Solis was a familiar face on television as one of the original hosts of GMA’s Startalk. She also brought entertainment updates to radio through “Star Patrol” and other programs.
As a columnist, she penned regular pieces for The Philippine Star, with her last article published just a day before her death, on July 3.
