Residents in the UAE are being advised to brace for dusty weather and shifting conditions today, especially those prone to allergies or respiratory issues. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast fair to partly cloudy skies, but with dusty spells in several areas during the daytime.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly but will still remain high, especially inland. Coastal regions and islands will see temperatures between 37°C and 42°C, while internal areas could climb up to 45°C. The mountains will offer cooler relief, ranging between 34°C and 38°C.
Winds blowing from the northwest to southwest will generally stay moderate at 15–45 km/h, but could occasionally strengthen and stir up sand and dust, leading to lower visibility on roads.
Later tonight and into early Sunday, humidity will creep up in coastal and internal areas, possibly causing mist to form in the northern part of the country.
Mariners are also being warned of choppy seas in the Arabian Gulf, where waves could swell up to 8 feet due to strong northwesterly gusts reaching 40 km/h. In contrast, the Oman Sea is expected to remain calm.
The NCM noted that these unsettled conditions may extend into Sunday.
