Kuwait has rolled out a new electronic visa system aimed at making it easier for travelers and residents to enter the country, part of a broader push to modernize digital services and attract more tourists and investors.
The platform, launched this week, offers four types of e-visas—tourist, family, business, and official—each tailored to different visitor needs.
Tourists can now apply for a visa valid for up to three months, granting them extended access to Kuwait’s cultural sites and leisure activities. The family visa, valid for 30 days, will help reunite families by allowing residents to invite their relatives through a faster, more efficient application process.
Meanwhile, business visas will accommodate professionals traveling for meetings, negotiations, or industry events, while official visas are set aside for government and diplomatic missions.
Authorities say the system is part of Kuwait’s long-term vision to position itself as a regional destination for tourism, commerce, and international partnerships.
