The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has firmly denied reports claiming that lifetime Golden Visas are being granted to certain nationalities. The agency emphasized that these rumors, circulated by local and international media and websites, have no legal basis.
In a statement, the ICP clarified that the eligibility, requirements, and categories for Golden Visas are clearly defined by official laws and government resolutions. “All Golden Visa applications must go through the UAE’s official digital platforms,” the Authority stressed, warning the public against relying on unauthorized parties or consultancy firms, especially those based abroad.
The clarification comes after the ICP detected misleading advertisements from overseas consultancy offices suggesting that anyone could obtain a lifetime Golden Visa through simplified processes—without stepping foot in the UAE. The Authority described these claims as “entirely false and uncoordinated” with UAE authorities.
ICP also warned that legal action would be taken against those promoting these scams, especially those attempting to exploit individuals’ dreams of living in the UAE by collecting illegal fees.
To protect the public, the agency urged everyone to disregard false promises and always verify visa-related procedures through trusted sources, either by visiting www.icp.gov.ae or calling the official helpline at 600 522 222.
“Do not hand over your documents or money to anyone who claims to process Golden Visas outside of the official channels,” the ICP reminded, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and applicant safety.
