Astronomer CEO and HR chief caught in viral Coldplay concert moment, sparks online firestorm

A seemingly innocent moment at a Coldplay concert in Boston has turned into a viral internet frenzy after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his company’s HR chief Kristin Cabot were shown cuddling on the venue’s big screen — despite the fact that Byron is publicly known to be married.

The incident, captured live during the show, caught the attention of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin who playfully remarked, “Oh look at these two,” unaware of the pair’s relationship status. Moments later, as Byron and Cabot appeared startled and quickly turned their faces away, Martin followed up with a sharper observation: “Oh what… either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, igniting speculation and criticism. One user posted, “Sorry for the wife but glad they’re being exposed and embarrassed,” while others scrutinized the pair’s online profiles for more context.

According to LinkedIn, Byron has served as CEO of Astronomer, a software company reportedly valued at over $1.3 billion, since July 2023. Another viral post pointed out a line from Cabot’s profile claiming she “wins trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants,” adding sarcastic weight to the controversy.

Public records show Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, with whom he shares two children in New York. Cabot’s relationship status, meanwhile, remains undisclosed.

While some online reactions were critical, others opted for humor. “What’s worse, finding out your partner is having an affair or they like Coldplay?” one post read. Another chimed in, “Oh no, a man with status and money has a work wife — let’s all lose our minds.”

The moment has now been dubbed by many as the “Internet’s biggest scandal today,” with both Byron’s LinkedIn and his wife’s Facebook page reportedly flooded by curious and furious netizens.
