Speculation swirled online after visitors on the Devils on the Run Tour in New Orleans claimed the infamous Annabelle doll was nowhere in sight—fueling fears that the so-called haunted object had mysteriously vanished. The rumors escalated after a nearby resort fire in White Castle, with some believing it was a supernatural consequence tied to the doll’s alleged escape.
But Dan Rivera, lead investigator at the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), put the rumors to rest with a video update.
“I’m here at the museum right now, and I just want to show you guys that Annabelle is in the Warrens’ Occult Museum,” Rivera said in a TikTok video, aiming to reassure curious followers. “Annabelle is not missing: she’s not in Chicago,” he emphasized.
According to Rivera, while the doll wasn’t on display at the New Orleans leg of the tour, it remains safely encased and accounted for. He also confirmed that Annabelle is expected to appear at the 2025 Rock Island Roadhouse Esoteric Expo in Illinois on October 4.
Annabelle gained notoriety in the 1970s when a student claimed it behaved with “malicious and frightening” intent, leading her to reach out to Ed and Lorraine Warren. The doll’s eerie history inspired a series of blockbuster films, including The Conjuring and the Annabelle spin-offs, cementing its place in paranormal pop culture.
