Abu Dhabi Police unveil UAE-made Eneron Magnus patrol vehicle in first public road test

Abu Dhabi Police took to the streets this week with the first locally made Eneron Magnus supercharged patrol vehicle, showcasing a blend of firepower, speed, and cutting-edge tech designed to redefine law enforcement mobility in the UAE.

The armored hybrid vehicle—developed by Eneron, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based Kintsugi Holding—was seen in action along the Corniche, flanked by police escorts during its debut test drive. The Magnus, which premiered at last year’s Gitex tech expo, can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 6.3 seconds and reach speeds up to 150kph, despite its heavy-duty protective build.

“This vehicle is unique. At some point, we would like to take this to a global scale in terms of production,” said Rashed Al Mohtadi, director of marketing and communications at Kintsugi Holding in a The National report. “To have a vehicle of this size move so nimbly and smoothly in the street is unheard of.”

Packed with futuristic features, the Magnus boasts B6 ballistic protection capable of withstanding gunfire and grenade blasts. It’s also equipped with a fully sealed cabin to protect occupants from chemical threats, 21 external cameras for 360-degree vision, an onboard secure cell, and infrared lighting for stealth operations.

The vehicle integrates AI through SAM, an in-house voice assistant allowing officers to control mission-critical functions—including deploying the two surveillance drones it carries—hands-free.

With a hybrid electric-diesel engine giving it a range of 900km and an advanced suspension system that adapts to both city streets and desert dunes, the Magnus is designed for versatility across terrains and tactical scenarios.

Civilian interest in the vehicle has surged, with Al Mohtadi hinting at a commercial version potentially launching by 2026, and full-scale production set to begin in Abu Dhabi by 2028. The estimated price is expected to be under Dh1 million.
