Residents across the UAE are in for a scorching day, with temperatures expected to soar to a blistering 48°C in some internal areas, according to the latest update from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The weather will generally remain fair with occasional patches of cloud. However, by nightfall and into Wednesday morning, humidity will increase, raising the likelihood of mist forming in certain coastal and inland regions.
In the capital, Abu Dhabi, temperatures will range from 30°C to 41°C, while Dubai will see a slightly warmer spread between 32°C and 42°C. Sharjah is forecast to experience lows of 29°C and highs peaking at 43°C.
Winds will shift throughout the day—from light to moderate Southeasterly breezes in the morning to Northwesterly gusts later on, occasionally strengthening to speeds of up to 40 km/h. Meanwhile, sea conditions will stay slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and remain slight in the Oman Sea.
As the mercury rises, the official start of summer is just days away. This year’s summer solstice falls on Saturday, June 21, marking the point when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky—ushering in the longest day of the year.
