Residents across the UAE can expect a slight dip in temperatures on Friday, June 20, according to the latest weather update from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The day will be mostly sunny and fair, with partly cloudy skies expected in some eastern parts of the country. While it remains hot, the peak temperature is forecasted to be lower than the 47.4°C recorded on Wednesday, with internal areas likely to see highs of up to 44°C.
Humidity is expected to build up by Friday night and continue into Saturday morning, increasing the chance of fog or mist formation, especially in northern regions. The NCM has issued a yellow alert for fog from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
Winds will range from 10km/h to 25km/h, occasionally picking up to 40km/h, potentially stirring up dust in some areas. Sea conditions will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea. A yellow alert for rough seas is also in effect until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
In terms of city forecasts, both Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to reach 40°C, while Sharjah will slightly trail at 39°C. Evening lows will hover around 29°C to 30°C in these areas.
Authorities continue to advise caution, particularly for motorists traveling in fog-prone zones and those heading out to sea.
