The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued a renewed call for all pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina to honor the sanctity of the site by adhering to proper religious manners rooted in prophetic tradition.
As part of its broader awareness campaign, the ministry underscored the need for calmness, reverence, and respectful behavior inside the mosque—regarded as one of Islam’s holiest sites. It reminded worshippers to enter with their right foot and recite the traditional supplication used for sacred spaces, while maintaining a soft tone and avoiding actions that may disrupt others’ spiritual experience.
Visitors are also encouraged to offer peaceful greetings to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as well as to his companions Abu Bakr and Umar, when passing the sacred chamber. Upon leaving the mosque, the ministry advises exiting with the left foot and reciting the appropriate supplication.
“These guidelines are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the experience of every visitor,” the ministry said in a statement, stressing that such observance ensures an atmosphere of “humility, reflection, and reverence.”
