Scorching 45°C heat and 90% humidity to test UAE residents’ endurance

UAE residents can expect a sticky and uncomfortable day ahead as humidity levels spike, especially along the coast, making the heat feel even more intense than what thermometers show.

The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has forecast a day of fair to partly cloudy skies, with clouds gathering over the eastern regions by the afternoon. Coastal and island areas are set to experience highs of 36°C to 41°C, while internal parts of the country could soar up to 45°C. In the mountains, temperatures are expected to settle between 30°C and 35°C.

Humidity along the coast will be oppressive, reaching up to 90 percent and not dropping below 65 percent. This damp air mass will linger into the night and Friday morning, raising the risk of fog or mist formation in both coastal and inland zones.

Winds will blow from the northwest and southwest at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, with gusts reaching 40 km/h at times, stirring up occasional dust.

While the Arabian Gulf is expected to have slight to moderate waves, the Oman Sea remains calm—conditions that may still pose minor challenges for those venturing out to sea.
