Motorists traveling along Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road should prepare for upcoming traffic diversions starting Saturday, June 28, 2025, as part of a two-month roadworks initiative by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The RTA confirmed that the diversions will affect the Mudon Underpass on Emirates Road and the Al Barari Underpass on E311. The work aims to enhance rainwater and groundwater drainage systems and resurface affected roads for improved safety and driving conditions.
Drivers are being urged to plan ahead and take alternate routes to avoid congestion. For those heading towards Jebel Ali, alternative options include Underpass 7 or the Dubai–Al Ain Bridge. Travelers from Hessa Street can also reroute via Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Street. Meanwhile, commuters bound for Sharjah are advised to use the Global Village Underpass or the Umm Suqeim Street intersection.
The RTA emphasized the importance of early trip planning during the upgrade period to ensure smoother and safer journeys.
