No dentist visit needed: AI tool checks your teeth from home for free in UAE

Aster Clinics has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-powered tool called Smyl AI, the first of its kind in the UAE dental care space, providing free and instant dental screenings for everyone—straight from WhatsApp.

The AI tool, developed in collaboration with India-based health tech company Logy.AI, is part of Aster Clinics’ new Smarter Smiles campaign, which aims to raise awareness and make early detection of dental issues more accessible across the country.

Through a simple WhatsApp chat, users can complete a screening in under two minutes by answering a few questions and uploading three photos of their teeth. In return, Smyl AI generates a free dental report flagging potential issues like cavities, gum problems, plaque, and staining. Users can then conveniently book follow-up consultations at the nearest Aster Clinic.

Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics for UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, emphasized the tool’s role in bridging gaps in oral care: “Oral health is a window to overall well-being. Yet, many residents delay dental visits due to fear, cost, or inconvenience,” he said. “With Smyl AI, we are aiming to validate our existing processes and concepts and on the other hand automate quality and precision of care.”

A recent survey on oral health habits in the UAE showed that 80% of respondents suffer from dental caries, and only 20% visit the dentist annually—pointing to a pressing need for proactive solutions like Smyl AI.

Users can access the tool by messaging “Hi Aster Clinics” on WhatsApp through this link: https://logy.ai/aster_uae. The service is completely free and available in multiple languages.

Aster Clinics, with 110 branches across the UAE, says it remains committed to combining innovation and compassion—placing cutting-edge care in the hands of residents and making oral health more approachable than ever.
