The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai have confirmed that the submission limit for the newly launched Online Employment Contract Verification System has been fully reached for the first two days of its rollout. The announcement came after the digital portal was flooded with applications from Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the United Arab Emirates eager to try the new online service.
“Thank you, mga Kababayan, for your overwhelming response!” read the official statement from MWO Dubai, highlighting the strong interest and support the initiative has received since its soft launch on July 7.
As part of its pilot phase, the platform is currently accepting a maximum of 200 applications per day, from Monday to Friday, starting 8:00 AM until either the quota is filled or 11:59 PM, whichever comes first. The digital service aims to eliminate long queues and streamline the process of contract verification and issuance of Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) by offering a fully online alternative.
With the high volume of early submissions, the MWO also issued key reminders to help applicants avoid delays and ensure successful processing. They stressed the importance of submitting only one application per individual, noting that duplicates may slow down the verification process.
Applicants were also reminded that their applications are not considered complete until they successfully finish the eKYC (electronic Know-Your-Customer) identity verification step after paying the verification fee.
The office added that contract verification reports will be released within three working days, provided that all requirements are submitted and payment is promptly completed. Applications sent on the launch day are currently under review by the MWO team and can be tracked via the official portal.
To guide users through the steps and avoid common pitfalls, MWO Dubai urged applicants to consult the official submission guide and checklist available at www.mwodubai.org/online-contract-verification.
While technical issues such as OTP errors and identity verification delays were reported by some users, the team behind the platform reiterated that they are working tirelessly to enhance the system and resolve bugs encountered during the rollout.
