A UAE resident is now Dh100,000 richer after winning in her very first attempt at the UAE Lottery.
Shazia Bhatti, who moved to the UAE in September 2023 with her daughter, had never considered joining any lottery or raffle draw before. But curiosity and a bit of hope led her to try her luck—and it paid off.
“I have never been into lotteries… never bought any, never won anything,” Shazia shared, adding that she used to avoid even store raffles and promotions.
She purchased just two tickets, unaware that one of them would land her a prize in the Lucky Chance category—something she didn’t even remember reading about. “I was really surprised because, in my head, that prize wasn’t there,” she said.
Now holding a six-figure windfall, Shazia already has thoughtful plans for her winnings: part will go to support her daughter’s education, another to help her nieces and nephews, and a share will be donated to charity.
