In a decisive move against international crime, Dubai Police have arrested and extradited three Belgian nationals—Mathias Akyazili, Giorgi Faes, and Othman El Ballouti—who were among Europe’s most wanted criminals.
The suspects were captured in Dubai following Interpol red notices and close coordination with global law enforcement agencies, including Interpol and Europol. Authorities confirmed that all three men are facing serious charges in Belgium such as leading a criminal organization, drug trafficking, robbery, human trafficking, and the illegal distribution of psychotropic substances.
Dubai Police said the arrests were part of a wider international operation aimed at dismantling transnational criminal networks. “This operation highlights the UAE’s unwavering commitment to international justice and its strategic role in combatting transnational organised crime,” the agency stated.
Following their arrest, the fugitives were handed over to Belgian authorities for prosecution.
