A woman who spent her entire life separated from her father finally embraced him for the first time—35 years after they were torn apart. The emotional reunion, made possible by the compassionate efforts of Sharjah Police, brought closure to a decades-long absence rooted in complex family circumstances.
The woman, who lives outside the UAE, reached out to Sharjah Police’s Department of Community Protection and Prevention with a plea: to help her locate and reunite with the father she had never met.
Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the department, said the case underscores the Sharjah Police’s strong humanitarian values. “This case represents the human and social role we play in handling sensitive family matters and helping people rebuild broken connections,” he stated.
After receiving the request, authorities immediately assigned a team from the Family and Social Issues Unit to act. Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Community Protection Department, explained that the team coordinated with the woman, removed logistical hurdles, and even provided her with a flight ticket to make the reunion possible.
To ensure privacy and emotional support, Sharjah Police arranged a secure and quiet space for the long-awaited meeting, with experts on-site to assist both parties through the experience.
