Authorities in Abu Dhabi have shut down Cocobona Cafeteria for posing a risk to public health after it repeatedly violated food safety regulations.
In a statement, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) confirmed the administrative closure of the establishment, which holds commercial license CN-3952783. The move was made under Law No. 2 of 2008, which governs food-related activities in the emirate.
ADAFSA explained that the decision followed numerous violations and the cafeteria’s failure to correct issues despite previous warnings. Officials noted that immediate action was necessary to protect consumers.
The closure will remain in place until all violations are resolved and Cocobona Cafeteria meets the required food safety standards.
The authority also encouraged the public to report any suspected violations or concerns related to food products by calling the toll-free Abu Dhabi Government number 800555, stressing that community cooperation is vital in ensuring food safety across the emirate.
