US Embassy and Consulate in UAE to suspend visa services temporarily for system upgrade

The United States Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai have announced a temporary suspension of visa appointment and fee payment services from May 15 to May 29, 2025. This suspension is part of a transition to a new visa service provider set to begin on May 30.

During this period, applicants will be unable to make new appointments or pay visa application fees. However, those with appointments scheduled before May 19 can proceed as planned without any disruption.

The upcoming system upgrade will introduce a new contractor responsible for handling visa-related services. Once operational, applicants will have access to enhanced services, including fee payments, appointment scheduling, and document delivery options.

The embassy urges visa applicants to plan ahead and avoid last-minute bookings during the blackout period. For those needing urgent visa appointments due to emergencies, expedited requests can be sent to the specified email addresses for Abu Dhabi (ADNIVExpedite@state.gov) and Dubai (DUBNIVExpedite@state.gov).
