The Al Ain Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases Court has directed a woman to pay AED 153,000, along with an additional AED 20,000 in compensation, to another woman after failing to provide promised jobs for the plaintiff and her family.
According to a Gulf Today report, citing court records, the plaintiff transferred AED 153,000 to the defendant, believing it would secure employment opportunities for herself and her relatives. However, despite receiving the funds, the defendant did not deliver on the promised jobs or return the money.
The plaintiff presented evidence, including bank transfer records and recorded phone conversations, demonstrating her transactions with the defendant. An expert appointed by the court verified that the defendant had acknowledged receiving the funds, which were then transferred to a third party who was supposed to facilitate the job placements.
The defendant claimed she reported the issue to the police and made efforts to resolve the situation, offering the plaintiff AED 50,000 as partial compensation, but the plaintiff declined, insisting on a full refund.
After reviewing the evidence, the court found the defendant responsible for failing to meet her obligations and ordered her to repay AED 153,000 along with AED 20,000 in compensation for damages.
