Sharjah student clinches global chemistry prize at ISEF 2025 in the US

A UAE student has made headlines on the global stage after winning top honors in a prestigious international science competition.

Saif Hassan Karam, a student of Sharjah Model Secondary School, secured first place in the chemistry category at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025, held in the United States—marking a proud moment for both the UAE and the region’s academic community.

Minister of Education Sarah Al Amiri praised Saif’s victory as a testament to his commitment and hard work. “This win is an honorable scientific and national achievement and a culmination of Saif’s determination, excellence and dedication to his studies,” she shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “We are proud of him and his well-deserved success.”

The ISEF competition, known for drawing some of the brightest young scientific minds from around the world, serves as a platform for students to present breakthrough projects across various disciplines. Saif’s triumph not only highlights individual brilliance but also reflects the growing strength of the UAE’s educational and research landscape.
